    • Ami  was born on the 26th of february 2004

Ami is sponsored by Weshoot / CPC/ Laporte

She shoots at High Harthay Shooting Ground  and shoots with a 12g Fabarm and a 12g Beretta Auto

Ami is based in Soham in Cambridgeshire

It was inevitable that Ami would eventually start shooting at some point with her Brother Taylor, Dad and Grandad all shooting. The first time she had a go at shooting was at the East Anglian Game Fair when she was 5 years old on the have a go stand. There is a video of this on her dads you tube account (jon081273).  She didn’t really do much more shooting until she turned 11 and has been fitting it in around her competitive  Dancing and  Kuk Sool Won classes, where she is nearly a black belt.

Ami hopes to do a lot more shooting in the future

The highlights of her career so far have been  shooting as part of the Cambridgeshire Ladies Team and shooting the World Compak in France in September 2017.

Ami is coached by her dad and her brother Taylor.

Her goals for the future include shooting for Team GB and the England Team.

Ami shoots all over the country but mainly practices at High Harthay Shooting Ground and Cambridge Gun Club.

Charlie shoots all disciplines but really enjoys FITASC and Sporting.

He first started at Lea Valley Shooting Association with his father when they went for a shared lesson in October 2013. He really enjoyed the lesson so returned in early 2014. He took part in a CPSA Young Shots Day after which his father bought him his first shotgun, a Beretta 682.

Charlie is currently sponsored by Laporte and The Clay Pigeon Company, Carl Russell & Co Gunmakers and Wallers Ash Gun Club. Charlie also appreciates the help he has received from Lea Valley Shooting Association, Teague Precision Chokes and Mercury Hearing.

Charlie is particularly proud to have been able to represent his home county of Hertfordshire for Fitasc in 2016 and is looking forward to representing them again in 2017 for both Sporting and Fitasc. His goals are to continually improve his scores and move up to AA by June 2018 and also to be selected to represent England/Great Britain in either Sporting or Fitasc as a Junior.

Charlie continues to shoot at Lea Valley where he enjoys Fitasc coaching with Ken Rist. He shoots with Hull Sovereign cartridges.

    • About

      Sporting

Charlie started shooting when he was about 6yrs old with a 410 side by side. He joined his father by helping out on a small Game shoot that he used to run. There he gained the valuable skills required for gun handling in safety and marksmanship in these early years. When his father packed up the game shoot in 2013 he then started taking Charlie to straw balers and that’s when he started winning the trophies. They soon joined the CPSA and started shooting at local shooting grounds.

His father took him along to Philip Thorrolds shooting academy for a treat and he showed that much promise that the academy wanted to take him on as a student. This was his first sponsorship deal.

At the age of 12 he won the Juniors at the Norfolk Game Fair, and then the following year too. By the end of his first year, Charlie was invited to shoot in the Norfolk shooting team for Juniors in sporting and also won the Norfolk Skeet championship for juniors too.

His interest and goals are to get into AA by Dec 2017 and into AAA by the end of 2019, to represent the country at national levels, England or GB team in Sporting/Compak/Fitasc disciplines, and to promote the sport to the best of his ability.

Charlie’s sponsors are Laporte-CPC, Philip Thorrold Shooting academy with Coaching by Philip & Ben Thorrold, TVC (the validation centre) training cartridges, Muller Chokes, Hull Cartridge co Cartridges, Rizzini Guns, Sunglasses for sport Pilla.

Charlie’s many highlights include, being nominated for young shot of the year award by the CPSA members, meeting George Digweed, Richard Faulds, his PB of 95 at Honesberie SG and dropping 2 targets on his last stand for a 97, the score alone of 95 at sporting for someone of sixteen makes that one of the highest scores ever achieved by someone of his age. It is also being picked by Italian gun makers Rizzini as the only UK sponsored Junior shooter.

    • Born on the 13th July 2003

      Based in the West Midlands

Her current sponsors are CPC-Laporte and Ed Lyons Sports Vision Consultant.

She shoots with a Miroku MK38 12g Trap gun and Browning Ultra XTR Prestige 12g Trap gun.

Leah got into shooting by going Sporting with her dad in 2015. She didn't really like the Sporting discipline because the targets are too varied. One ground that she used to go to with her dad had a DTL layout. At the time she didn't know what DTL was like, but instantly clicked with the discipline and it's gone from there.

She mainly shoots at Mid Wales Shooting Centre and shoots there most weekends. It is set in 300 acres of Welsh countryside and has the status of a Premier Plus ground. The ground hosts many prestigious shooting competitions throughout the year such as the Krieghoff DTL, Welsh selection shoots across all disciplines and the Perazzi Sporting Grand Prix to name but a few.

She is currently coached by Lee Kirby (current England DTL shooter who has been selected for the Home Internationals and the European Championships 2017 and the World Championships in Australia 2018). Lee has coached Leah at Mid Wales Shooting Centre since she started shooting in March 2016.

Her goals for the future are to be selected for the England Ladies DTL team, representing England in the European and World Championships in the near future, progress through the classifications and to hopefully start shooting on the GB Talent Pathway for Olympic Trap.

The highlight of Leah’s shooting career so far is shooting the Krieghoff DTL in May 2017. The Krieghoff has been the biggest competition that she has shot so far which was held over 3 days.

Amber Hill is the shooter who she looks up to. Although she shoots a different discipline, Leah admires her because she shows that girls and ladies can succeed in a male dominated sport.

Her advice for any up and coming shooters is just enjoy it and take whatever challenge is thrown your way, find a gun within your budget that fits and get professional coaching.

Born on the 21st of May 2001

      Currently based in Huddersfield

She is currently sponsored by CPC-Laporte, Driven Sporting and Plugzz

Stephanie is coached by Linda and David Grayson. Linda won CPSA coach of the year and they have since opened their own coaching business. She credits them with taking her from novice shot to experienced shooter in just six months.

The best piece of advice she has been given about shooting is ‘to enjoy yourself’ and she says that shooting should be a time to socialise and make memories which you will treasure for your whole life. Without enjoyment, those memories are worthless. It’s not all about winning.

Her fondest memory of shooting are when she hit her first clay but also shooting clays off the high tower at park lodge with her .410.

She started shooting at five when she attended shoots with her father. She got her first .410 at the age of seven and began shooting game. She switched to shooting clays regularly when she attended an event with the Shotgun and Chelsea Bun Club. She then began competing in September 2016.

Her ambition is to get into the English Sporting team to shoot with the best shots in the country. This year she will attend the English Open Sporting, British Open Sporting and ICTSF World Sporting Championship at Kelmarsh.  She hopes to achieve a medal position in each one. She also hopes to join the GB Compax team.

      Achievements

“I would say go for it! Unless you have tried it, you won’t understand how addictive it is. Seeing the clay break when you pull the trigger gives you a feeling that you can’t explain.  I feel as if clay pigeon shooting is a male dominated sport and I would love to see more young girls my age involved in it”

“Don’t feel as if you can’t get involved just because it’s not a ‘girl’s sport’ because I can assure you that is not the case. I would recommend attending S&CBC; events if you are starting out. The ladies are so lovely and absolutely no experience is needed”

“Some of the top shots in the world are women, take Cheryl Hall for example. This just proves that anything is possible. The sky is the limit”

Charlotte shoots with a 12g Miroku mk3800, 26inch barrel with a recently cut adjustable stock (May 2016)

Charlotte started travelling around various grounds with her mum and dad who are DTL shooters themselves. She realised she was going around various grounds watching her parents and not giving it a try, so she asked if she could have a go.

She started shooting in 2015 and since the beginning of 2016 been shooting DTL at competition level. DTL is an easy target but a hard target to master mentally.

Charlotte is based on the Isle of Wight, where there is not an abundance of shooting grounds that offer DTL. So they can only shoot this discipline once a fortnight. Charlotte is coached at Bisley Gun Club, Surrey as it offers Saturday and Sunday shooting, only one hour drive from either Portsmouth or Southampton.

Charlotte also aims to improve her shooting ability, promote shooting on the Isle of Wight, become an England shooter and obtain a GB Talent Pathway in the future.

Prior to agreeing to be coached, Charlotte has had no coaching up until now; she has had to learn from her mistakes and improved her technique of her own.

She is now coached by Dave Toomer.

Charlotte’s aim is to progress up the ranks and beat her personal best in 2018. The CPSA have ranked Charlotte as 9th in Colts at the beginning of 2017. She is keen to be recognised for being from Isle of Wight as she has the added obstacle of having to travel over the water to train with her fellow shooters.

She is always wearing something pink (her favourite colour) Charlotte has the nickname of Charlotte ‘Pinky’ Morris.
